The biggest difference is Life Coaching has a set timeframe for success. Often you will pay for a 10-week package. while therapy tends to go on forever.
People using Life Coaching are in a good mental state. Life Coaching dwells on the positive. Coaching identifies roadblocks, things in the way, of what you want. Therapy, for me at least, identified problems I never knew I had. Most therapy explores children, looking for roadblocks in your early years.
Life Coaching was much more effective than therapy for me. I paid $1500 up front for 10 weekly sessions. After 4 weeks I got the job I wanted and was on my way to bigger success.
After receiving Life Coaching, I studied Life Coaching. My conclusion is there is a better and less expensive way for some of us to get the benefits of Life Coaching.
Benefits of my way
- Less money
2. Use your free time, not limited to a coach’s schedule
3. Don’t have to wait a week to get a question answered, work at your pace, quicker or slower.
4. Improve yourself in private, no one needs to know except yourself.
5. Learn/know the right path when approaching forks in your life, this is my favorite. No need for change now. Be one step ahead by knowing your dreams and how to achieve them. But not required to do anything now, just be prepared when the opportunity presents itself.
6. My approach does not work on goals. Goals create stress, I hate missing goals, so I don’t use them. You do not need to either. Make small changes in your life. Replaced bad habits with better habits. Enjoy the Journey is the only goal.
