Coach clients through my 3-step process:
- Dreamer. The dreamer step defines your dreams/goals.
- Visionary. The visionary step has you envision your dreams and create an action plan.
- Reality. The reality step involves the coach helping you stay on track to make your dreams a reality.
Let me explain in detail how this all works. 2 minutes of your time can change your life and those around you for the better.
We all have dreams, but often never follow them. Maybe they are unparticular, or just impossible in the eyes of those around you. My family and friends thought I was crazy when I talked about my dreams. But I am now living them. Maybe my dream was easier than some. I dreamed of being happy and helping others be happy. Well, here I am. I did not dream of being famous or rich like a movie star. A lot of rich and famous people are NOT happy. I did use money and personal connection to achieve my happiness, but not a lot of either. What I used most was the calmness that comes from within. The hardest part was staying focused. I am not saying you have to be totally focused. I do many different things, often on some tangent in life. But that’s my style, I was in no rush and always wanted to Enjoy the Journey. Exploring and learning was the fun part. Not achieving something, but working towards achieving something. But having no plan is a waste of time. Honestly, I got a very late start. I was 50 years old before I came up with a Life Plan. I should really call it a mission. Just like a successful business must have a mission statement, individuals need one too. You don’t even have to share your mission, because sometimes those around you are crazy. Having a plan or at least a mission gives one purpose. Purpose makes us happy. Or at least less confused. This plan/mission does not mean immediate change. Relaxation is part of my happiness. Work smart, not hard. But when the road in front of has a fork, you know confidently which way to go. So this doesn’t require more effort, it saves effort. A little planning goes a long way. I help people live smart, not work harder. Having a purpose, even if it is a hidden purpose, makes life more enjoyable. You don’t feel like you are wasting energy going nowhere. Like I said I figured this out at 50 years old and am actually implementing it in my 60s. It often takes years to formulate your mission, I never pass up opportunities to enjoy life, so I have taken longer than some.
So there are several ways of achieving this happiness plan. I have a few in y tool case. Different personalities work well with different approaches. The first step is to get rid of goals. Because goals mean failing sometimes and usually reaching a goal is not always satisfying. What is satisfying is enjoying this process that gets you closer to a goal. Even if you don’t make the goal, you have been enjoying yourself. Often goals change because we learn new things along the journey. Learning new things is one of my biggest goals in life. It is an easy one for me. Another trait we need is adaptability. The ability to enjoy change and the unknown. Learning again makes this easier and more fun. Last, when we are ready to share our dreams and make them a reality we have enough info to convince those around us. You will be surprised to see people happy for you when you have the confidence of enjoying the journey. They often want to join you. Then you become rich and famous in your own circle of trusted friends and family. You really don’t need the world to know your success, most likely insecure people will come after you in a bad way and the great people are too busy with their mission to care. Well, the icing on the cake is people with the same mission will help you which usually creates the greatest joy.
Disclaimer: This does not work for people who feel entitled or a victim. You need to let go of any hatred. Mostly positive thoughts are required, don’t fight the negative thoughts but turn the around. The cup half empty is also half full.
